"This is a strong community and doesn't deserve to be labelled but does need resources to ensure all of our people have the opportunities available in WA" said Ms Freeman.
"Great initiatives are being undertaken by the local community such as Nollamara PACT (People and Communities Together) which over the last year has bought together the community, local businesses, local government and WA Police to address law and order issues in the local area."
"But initiatives like this need resources and our community requires more investment from the Barnett State Government to address housing affordability, homelessness, engagement in education and the higher than average unemployment that makes a people vulnerable to committing crime."
"It's time for the Barnett Government to look at new and better ways to tackle crime such as justice reinvestment."
"Locals tell me that they love living here and every day I see first-hand the desire of locals to work together to make their communities more liveable. It's a great shame that the article in the West Australian couldn't capture that."
