Ms Freeman said Wilf was a humble, working class man who always had time to help others.
“Wilf was the resident handyman in the seniors housing complex in which he and his wife of 32 years Nadia lived,” Ms Freeman said.
Wilf was also an inaugural member of the Alexander Heights Seniors Club established 17 years ago and spent 15 years on the management committee and the immediate past president.”
“Over these years his contribution to the club was immense and was a vital part of the success of the club.
“He was respected not only by the Alexander Heights seniors but by seniors around the State.”
Ms Freeman said Wilf’s generosity, warmth and big heart will be missed greatly.
“It is with great sadness I extend my deepest sympathy to Wilf’s family,” she said.
“Wilf and Nadia raised four children and have five grandchildren, who will all miss their father and grandfather greatly.
“I feel honoured to have known Wilf.”
